Casa Romero’s ceviche and sangria

Simply a pleasure

Sure, you can have all kinds of standard Mexican-restaurant fare at Casa Romero — and you’ll likely enjoy all of it. What you should do, though, is nab a table on the lovely, tucked-away patio as the sun begins to fade, get your fork into an order of ceviche, and keep the glasses of sangria coming. The generous portion of tangy, marinated chunks of pollock mixed with onion and cilantro is a perfect late-summer snack; pair it with another appetizer — the fish taco makes a satisfying partner — and call it a dinner. Wash it all down with a carafe of sangria as night falls, and you’ve just experienced one of the simplest and best little pleasures that Back Bay has to offer.

Ceviche available for $8.50 and carafe of sangria available for $22, at Casa Romero, 30 Gloucester Street, Boston | 617.536.4341
