New In The Phoenix -- Glodis A Skunk At Dems' Party?

In this week's issue of the Boston Phoenix -- in print tomorrow, online now -- I write about the discomfort many state Democratic insiders feel about Guy Glodis becoming, potentially, the party's candidate for state Auditor.

Glodis has a history of being on the wrong side of a lot of core liberal issues, like gay marriage, and of making comments considered offensive by many of those same libs. And yet, with the party's state convention coming in a little over a week, almost nobody is drawing attention to those criticisms -- and Glodis is increasingly seen as the likely primary winner.

So, why the silence of the left? Fear? Spinelessness? Disinterest in his competitors? Or perhaps, do they suspect -- as Glodis himself does -- that what they don't like about him is exactly what makes him their best bet to win Scott Brown voters in November?

Read it here:

Heck Of A Guy: Despite a history of illiberal views and a boorish reputation, Guy Glodis enters the Democratic state convention unscathed
