So we went a little overboard taking pictures of NO DOUBT and PARAMORE. Can you blame us? We spent the night trying to figure out if Gwen was at all jealous of the opening act's frontwoman, who has skated serenely through the rather large hole in the glass ceiling that Ms. Stefani plowed through, head-first, about a decade ago. There have been only a few awkward moments in No Doubt's reunion, most of them coming when the band tries to capture, in middle age, the mixture of surprise, naivete, and fresh air behind Gwen's teenage, google-eyed rendition of "Just a Girl." You won't find that note in Paramore's set, either. Hayley Williams never needed to feign amateurism, and by the age of 16 was fielding arena gigs and glossy-mag interviews with the stage presence of an old pro. Which doesn't mean she can't bring the kind of whiplash intensity you find only in kids under 21: keep clicking and you'll see her band pull off some acrobatics that haven't been seen since the glory days of glam metal on the Sunset Strip. (Note: we left a bunch of No Doubt outtakes at the end, after the Paramore shots.)

Re: Photos: No Doubt and Paramore in Boston
Great photos! I'm actually working on the State Farm No Doubt Tour this Summer - and all the shows will be as good as this one! Any fans that are interested in getting flown to Vegas to see the show / meeting the band, check-out sfmusictour.com.

Re: Photos: No Doubt and Paramore in Boston
I might be biased (as a No Doubt fan) but the ND set blew me away and more than exceeded my expectations. They have really brought up their artistic game (hello? awesome 1960s b-movie playing during "Ex-Girlfriend"? Futuristic set?) so much. They were the real reason people came. People were pretty stoic during the Paramore set and I was let down. All Hayley did was shake her hair out and skip. Hardly living up to the hype that surrounds Paramore but I guess they aren't really a live band.
And at one point during "Let the Flames Begin" they ACTUALLY started some impromptu worship session. I got pissed off. Then they did "Decode" and we all waited for No Doubt so it was cool. I thought that if Paramore and No Doubt did a song together it would be cool but I guess each act was targeting a certain demographic (even though No Doubt stole the show). I did notice that during the encore in "Sunday Morning" Gwen didn't say "F--- YOU! NOW YOU'RE THE PARASITE!" but there were Paramore fans in the audience, so yeah. Still an ace show. I'd better be quiet now.
