"Hasn't the whole 3D thing jumped the shark by now?" asks Harold Lee (John Cho), just before anti-Wall Street protesters pelt his assistant (Bobby Lee) — and the audience — with eggs in AVery Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas. Harold is now an uptight banker, but Kumar (Kal Penn) is still a stoner, and when the Christmas tree Harold's father-in-law (Danny Trejo) gives him goes up in smoke, the reunited friends head to New York for an adventure that includes a baby on cocaine, a robot that makes waffles, a drug that makes the boys think they're claymated, an R-rated recreation of a scene in A Christmas Story, and Neil Patrick Harris fronting the Rockettes. Inventively directed by Emerson alum Todd Strauss-Schulson, this third outing in the series is funnier than Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay, but for all the offensiveness, it's family-values to the core. The 3D is mandatory; a little weed wouldn't hurt either.
