Banditos postpone mysterious holiday gift swap
"Have Sex with a Guy with a Moustache Day," "Parking-Maid Appreciation Day,"
"Take Your Webmaster to Lunch Day" . . . these are actual holidays.
Or at least, that's what strangers and co-workers have told us over the years.
And though they might not have the celebrity or the swagger of, say, Christmas, the Banditos Misteriosos - the group behind the city's flash mob-style pillow fights, scavenger hunts, and squirt gun battles - still think they deserve a
little respect. Thus, their Choose Your Own Holiday Gift Swap, originally slated for this Saturday. But bad weather has postponed the fun. See the message from "Boston's mysterious playmate" below:
Unfortunately, it looks like the weather gods decided to
make Sunday GrossAndRainy Day, the least-fun of all the calendar's holidays.
While Cloudy Misteriosos is a great and powerful cloud, sometimes his brother
clouds like to ignore him out of spite. We apologize to those who cannot attend
the rescheduled event on Saturday, December 18. Same time (2 pm), same place (TBA
at 11:59 pm on Friday the 17th). But now you have a whole additional week to
craft your gift!
See you next Saturday!"
So what exactly is going on here? The rules are simple: show up next Saturday, bring a
wrapped gift to swap (homemade, please), and prepare to party in the name of the
holiday of your choice. Costumes are optional but encouraged. For more details, hit up misteriosos.org.
