9 Boston scenes to look out for in "Knight and Day"

Crazy car-flip stunt scene caught on security camera. (Read our "Knight & Day" review here)

Who's going to be running out to see Knight & Day this weekend? People whose greatest joy in life is to see Tom Cruise be outrageously creepy. People who swoon over the quirky, lovable Cameron Diaz, whose OMG can only be described as LOL (though not by us). And Bostonians who want to see all manner of insane action stunts raining down on their fair city -- including high-speed car chases on "the I-93."

Here's a list of local spots to look out for, tracked dutifully by Sam Baltrusis at Loaded Gun Boston.

  • 1) The two main characters first bump into each other with their luggage at Worcester Regional Airport.
  • 2) Jacob Wirth, on Stuart Street in the Theater District, is the setting for a wedding reception in the movie.
  • 3) The South Boston Waterfront
  • 4) Boston Public Library
  • 5) Boston Fire Museum
  • 6) Gaslight, the Parisian brasserie located on Harrison Avenue in the South End, is where Cruise's character interrupts Diaz's character's dinner date.
  • 7) The cornfield where Cruise lands that plane is on Curve Street in Bridgewater, where one townsman captured from afar this cool video of the explosion you see in the trailer.
  • 8) That huge car chase, where Cruise clings to the windshield, tears down Haul Road between Pumphouse Road and the I-90 East on-ramp.
  • 9) The trailer also includes a wide establishing shot of TD Garden and the Zakim Bridge.

And on a non-Boston-related note, check out this viral video of Diaz using her foot to send Cruise through a table on the "Knight and Day" set. Observe how seriously hard Cameron Diaz's OMG LOLs are here:
