The clip for "Surf's Up America" has been making the rounds for a few weeks now, so instead of just re-posting it we decided to reach out to one of the producers, Loroto's P. Nick Curran (also a Phoenix contributor, and Loroto partner with Addison Post, the video's director), to break down his vision and approach and give us an inside look into the production of the video.

EARTHQUAKE PARTY's minimalistic punk spirit surfaces once again in the band's new official video for "Pretty Little Hand". The track -- which is currently up for "Song of the Year" in our annual Best Music Poll -- is from their 5-minute-long 3-track tape Vs Pizza, self-released earlier this year.

It warms my winter soul when anything that's worthwhile in rap catches some buzz in its sail. So I'm ecstatic that the Allston-spawned Grey Sky Appeal is getting wet and sloppy love from hip-hop fans and hipster dweebs everywhere, and that they're taking extra steps to match their sound with avant-garde videos.

For twenty minutes on Thursday night, my friend Akhil and I rounded the perimeter of the Scoot Inn looking for a way in. It was 1:30 a.m., the venue was at capacity and Talib Kwali was performing inside. We had just seen Beach Fossils fans almost tear down an outdoor stage tent at Shangri-La, we were drunk and we really wanted to see some hip-hop.
