MORE ABOUT BARBEQUE BOB AND THE RHYTHM ACES
Veteran Boston area blues harmonica virtuoso and vocalist Barbeque Bob Maglinte has worked and toured with Blues Legends as Sunnyland Slim, Louisana Red, Luther "Guitar Junior" Johnson, and Jimmy Rogers. His sound can be best described as original and cover Chicago and West Coast Blues/R&B/Jump/Swing, often being compared to such harp giants as Rod Piazza and William Clarke, and has been acknowledged as a huge influence of many musicians on the Boston Blues scene. Former Muddy Waters/Eric Clapton harpman Jerry Portnoy has described him as "not only one of the best harp players in Boston, but one of the very best around, period." The late, great Alligator recording artist William Clarke described him as "powerful and well focused." He has also played on part of the soundtrack to the hit movie, "Fried Green Tomatoes," and has recorded on projects by other area locals such as Blues Express, Two Bones and A Pick and Rick Russell.
