MORE ABOUT DENVER BOOT

Like the last cigarette of the night, the Denver Boot’s brand of pensive folk invigorates the body and provokes the mind. William Moretti’s carefully crafted lyrics suggest empty whiskey bottles, family ties broken, and lost love. Violin and banjo weave melodies against Moretti’s haunting vocals, while upright bass and drums provide a driving rhythm. With hints of country and indie rock n roll, the music breaks folk traditions while staying earnest to its values.

The band grabbed the attention of the New England music scene in the summer of 2012 with the release of their debut album “6 to 9….7,12.” Opening with “I Disagree,” the album offers up a diverse selection of tracks ranging from gentle folk ballads to raucous country rockers. 2012 also saw the band score a win in the best new act category of the Motif Magazine Music awards as well as runner up for best folk act in the 2012 Providence Phoenix Music Awards.

The Denver Boot has shared the stage with notable acts such as Slim Cessna’s Auto Club, Lucero, Gringo Star, Three Bad Jacks, Larry and his Flask, He’s My Brother She’s My Sister, Lucy Michelle & The Velvet Lapelles, Brown Bird Ruby Relic, Mark Cutler, The Wrong Reasons, and Driftwood. While maintaining a vigorous touring schedule, they are constantly working on new material and will begin the recording of their second album in January of 2013.

Their debut full length '6 to 9, 7, 12' was released June 23, 2012. The record features 10 Original songs, and was recorded at Treading Thomas Records in the fall of 2011. Available for purchase shipped from their website, bandcamp, or CDBaby.
