The New Harmful

The New Harmful is a band wrought on the industrial decay of Holyoke, Mass. The four piece produces songs that juxtapose the rock tradition with dynamic experimentation in song and tonal structures. The band balances guitar noise with vocal harmonies layered over a solid rhythm foundation. Incarnations of The New Harmful have been playing in and around the Pioneer Valley since 1992. Drummer Jeremy splits his time drumming for New Radiant Storm King and occasional percussion duties for The Figgs. After several cassette-only endeavors, the quartete have just release their first full-length CD, The Wreckage Piled High, on their own Youth Electronix label. Produced by Thom Monahan (The Lilys, Pernice Bothers, Chappaquiddick Skyline) including both old and new songs, the album documents the band's eclectic sound to date.
