MORE ABOUT RED PLANET
Founding members John Mello & Don Woodward would probably agree that Red Planet takes cues from the aggressive & emotional music of Bob Mould, Buffalo Tom or even early Radiohead. The band secured its first show, a cold Wednesday night at TT's - in mid-winter of 1999. Their debut CD Astronaut Blues - produced on a slim budget and released that same year, managed to pick up favorable press and put them on the map. Steady club gigs eventually produced Tony Dintino (drums) and Heath Fradkoff (bass) who have brought the band's overall sound and live act to new levels.
The band's latest effort All or Nothing - engineered by Dan McLoughlin (Push Stars) - offers 6 straight forward, accessible rock songs. It's slated for September 2001 release.
