MORE ABOUT PAMELA RUBY RUSSELL AND HER HIGHWAY OF DREAMS BAND

Pamela Ruby Russell, an independent artist, calls her genre, "Americana Pop." Her CD, Highway of Dreams draws from her many wild adventures as: elephant rider in a Mexican circus, cantina Tarot card reader, jewler in the French West Indies, and Cape Code restauranteur. Pamela bravely shares her joys and sorrows with her listeners. A two time Billboard Song Contest award winner, interviewed on the WCVB-TV Channel 5 news-zine Chronicle, and in the e-zine Wired.com, her songs have been aired on college and commerical radio stations, including WMFO, WBRS, and WBCN, where she was Featured Local Artist. Pamela's performed in NYC's revered LaMama Galleria, the infamous Rat, Borders Books & Music Store and City Hall Plaza in Boston, The Kendall Cafe, Passim's, Jack's and Ryle's in Cambridge, Tenton's Avant Garde Festival, and LA, Mexico and France.

Co-produced by multi-talented Peter Calo (guitarist/Carly Simon and Linda Eder), Highway of Dreams also features Robert Holmes on backing vocals. Bolivian flautist Miguel Jimenez plays kena and pan pipes. Musicians from nine countries in all play on this CD, creating a beautifully rich tapestry of sound. Pamela is generating interest in the film industry with her songs as well as writing a screenplay about a wild woman ancestor. Creating pictures, touching the heart and soul with her words and melodies, she says, "There are no strangers. Honest music can aid in bringing humanity together...I have always strived to make music that heals. With all the crazy things I've been through in this strange, bizarre and wonderful life, I feel that what I have to say is worth sharing. That's why I sing."
