MORE ABOUT ED MCGUIRL

Ed McGuirl plays acoustic and electric blues and roots music performing solo or with long time partner and fellow multi-instrumentalist Mike Fischman as “Jimmytown Juke”. He was voted best local blues act in the 2005 Motif Magazine reader’s poll and the 2007 Providence Phoenix Best Music Poll. He has received songwriting awards for “White Shirts/Hungry Children” and “Will The Whisky Win”; had “Elevator Song” chosen for an NBC documentary soundtrack; has had several songs such as “White Shirts/Hungry Children”, “Jesus Doesn’t Kleck No Tax Wassail”, “Blue Barnyard” and “Don’t Mess With My Pride” selected for various compilation CDs; and has done studio session work for a number of other artists. He also appeared as Mr. March in the 2007 Songwriters In The Raw calendar produced by the Rhode Island Songwriters association. He would be a rich and famous blues and roots musician if it weren’t an oxymoron.
