Vermont singer-songwriter Lisa McCormick's strong clear voice and sharp sense of humor light up the stage, with distinctly original contemporary acoustic songs characterized by daring sophisticated lyrics and infectious guitar rhythms. Her 1997 debut CD, Right Now, produced by Jonathan Edwards, earned McCormick instant acclaim, including grand prize in the USA Songwriting Competition. That same year she took grand prize in the MIXX Magazine Indie Band Contest. In 1999, she was nominated by Vermont Senator James Jeffords to represent her state on the Millennium Stage at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. Her current CD, Mystery Girl, includes spicy Latin stylings, including songs in fluent Spanish.
