MORE ABOUT DARKBUSTER

Bursting onto the burgeoning Boston punk scene in 1997, DARKBUSTER, soon became crowd favorites. With their hilariously witty brand of booze soaked music, mixing sounds from Ska to Doo-Wop, Rockabilly and Punk, the guys soon earned the reputation of being the “East Coast NOFX”. Their debut CD, 22 Songs You’ll Never Want to Hear Again, was an instant classic and soon had kids filling every VFW hall and all-ages venue up and down the New England area.
The year 2000 saw the guys winning the prestigious WBCN Rumble, (an unlikely event considering past winners include Til’ Tuesday & more recently the Dresden Dolls). The guys followed up with a split ep on Rodent Popsicle, played shows with the Mighty Mighty Bosstones and Dropkick Murphys then hit the road coast to coast with the River City Rebels. Fans nationwide soon got the DARKBUSTER fever. Lars Fredrickson was seen with a DB sticker on his guitar, Lenny became the “groom” in the Dropkick Murphys “Walk Away” video, and kids seemed to be packing the house at every show.
Taking some time off to re-vamp the lineup, the lads soon realized that absence must make the heart grow fonder as copies of their debut CD were going for $55 on EBay!!! After a year of not playing they quickly sold out AXIS, one of the biggest rooms in Boston and 200 screaming kids had to be forcibly turned away.
2005 saw the band release their much acclaimed new CD, A Weakness For Spirits, (featuring guest spots from Dicky Barrett/Mighty Mighty Bossstones & Ken Casey/Dropkick Murphys. Touring the USA/Canada with the Dropkick Murphys, the Street Dogs, the Vans Warped Tour and adding guitarist/organist Amy Griffin (Raging Teens/Avoid One Thing).
