A Sly and the Family Stone Tribute Band.
Who we are …. Take You Higher was conceptualized in 2004 by saxophonist Jeff Robinson (Jeff Robinson Trio, Amphibian). An eight-piece band of some of Boston's finest musicians, assembled to play and pay homage to the music of Sly and The Family Stone. Director/Singer-Songwriter Theo joined Jeff to solidify this effort to make this show band truly a theatrical experience.
It is said that Jerry Martini, the original saxophonist for Sly and the Family Stone gave Sly Stone the idea to start the band. Well, that tradition continues with "Take You Higher!"
