MORE ABOUT NOAH HARRISON

Written in basements and bedrooms, the poignant and atmospheric sound of Noah’s music seems to point directly towards what its been thus far; a means of introspection, reflection and expression. Picking up the guitar while a teenager, the self-taught songwriter has striven at being able to effectively share it with others since the first note. This movement of thought, sentiments and feelings from what has long seemed to be a tender, elevated pipedream to the very-much-reality that it is now has been nothing short of terrifyingly wonderful. The soon to be released independent six song EP, "Songs For a Long Night" is a small culmination of what those many days and evenings spent picking and scribbling have produced.

Noah’s music seems to easily fall under the category of a poetic songwriter, but it’s the philosophical mood and paced tempos that place him in his own unique right. His music can be compared to early Leonard Cohen, Nick Drake, and quite possibly what Donovan would have sounded like if he preferred alcohol instead of acid. Mainly employing various finger-picking styles and guitar tunings, he creates atmospheric melodies to accompany his layered songs. Noah credits the bulk of his influences to the songwriting and sounds of Mark Kozelek (Red House Painters, Sun Kil Moon), Mark Eitzel (American Music Club) and the music of Sigur Ros.
