MORE ABOUT DAFT SAMUEL

The building blocks of what would eventually become the band daft Samuel began in the summer of 1998 with the union of bassist Pete Huber, guitarist Alex Hyman and drummer Buxton. The trio, all from Acton, Massachusetts, decided to focus on writing original material while developing a unique style that would make their sound synonymous with their name. Adter a drunken episode at a bar, the name daft Samuel was put into play, simply because it was different and not likely to be forgotten. Actually, at the time, it was the only suggestion they could remember the next day, so they figured what the hell.

In August of 1998, daft Samuel recorded a five song demo at Wellspring Sound in Concord, MA to give to their fans as promotional material. After spending 1999 gigging and extending their fan base, the band headed back to the tudio in mid 2000 to record more tracks. The result was a muct anticpated four song EP released on FDR Records in January 2001, which subsequently has two songs selected as finalists for George Clinton's demo contest.

Currently, the band may be seen supporting their CD at venues in the greater Boston area, ranging from The Middle East and T.T. the Bear's in Cambridge out to Liquid in central MA and everywhere in between.
