"People are just in love with their garbage," says April Winchell. And she should know. Under the name Helen Killer, Winchell pores over the contents ofetsy.com, the online marketplace for indie crafters, and posts the worst on her blog,regretsy.com.
Winchell has seen more lousy crap than most — enough to fill a book, Regretsy: Where DIY Meets WTF, with chapters such as "Vulvacraft," "Pet Humiliation," and of course, "Christmas."
"This is when garbage really comes into its own," Winchell says. "People make stupid shit all year, and then at Christmas, they put a hook on it. Now it's an ornament!"
Over the next several pages, Winchell shares some handiwork she can never unsee.
