MORE ABOUT ADAM SHENK
Welcome to the world of Adam Shenk, and his brand of “neo-pop,” which fuses together elements of R&B, jazz, pop/rock, soul, and hip-hop. Adam, who was chosen earlier this year as a semi-finalist on MTV’s “Making the Band 4,”is said to have that “intangible something that electrifies a room when he shares his music.”
Adam is poised to make a positive impact on the music industry with the release of his EP “If Ya Like This.”He acted as songwriter, singer, and producer on the album, and is eager to share his CD with the world.
In February of this year, Adam was flown to New York, along with 58 other young men from across the country, to participate in the semi-final round of auditions for MTV’s “Making the Band 4.” He worked closely with Laurieann Gibbons, Michael Bivens, and other top industry professionals, and sang for P. Diddy. Although he wasn’t chosen for the show, he was seen on the season’s first episode. “Making the Band 4” airs on MTV, Mondays at 10 p.m.
Adam started singing original songs into his tape recorder at the age of 3, and his hunger for performing took him to the American Boychoir School at 12, where he honed his skills as a musician and toured the world. He studied dance and theater at Interlochen Center for the Arts and Boston Conservatory, but his love for music and songs led him to Berklee College of Music, where he received a Bachelor of Music in Songwriting.
Adam plans to use his diverse skills within the arts to cross over to many mediums, combining music with theater, dance, and film. He hopes that his new CD will launch him into the music industry as both a gifted songwriter and vocalist. He enjoys collaborating with other artists, and would like to eventually have his own production company.
Adam’s amazing experience on “Making the Band” inspired him to keep following his dreams, and he’s determined to stay focused with his eyes on the prize, inspiring others with his music and passion for what he does.
