When photographer Bryan Bruchman isn’t shutterbugging for SPIN, Matador Records, the Village Voice, and yours truly, among others, he’s running — writing and shooting — the music blog HillyTown, highlighting the live shows in Portland and its surroundings that Bruchman’s excited about and wants to share with the city writ large. With indie leanings, HillyTown also alerts Mainers to film screenings, art shows, and miscellaneous performances. And the concert series HillyTownPresents, curated, booked, and promoted by the blog, gives stages to bands we need to see.
