Higgins Beach
A beach, at its best, represents a frame of mind as much as it does a sandy stretch of shore. Higgins Beach is not a secret, of course, but because there’s so little parking, you don’t have to compete for spots to lay down the towel (unlike the often-mobbed nearby Scarborough Beach). With a little more elbow room, you can slip into summer bliss stationary on the sand, paddling a kayak, surf-casting, or splashing around in the rolling waves.
