Front Room

Brunch is both civilized and debauched. Mimosas in champagne flutes, bagels, lox, capers, strawberry garnishes, lovely pastries. Blinding hangovers, grease bombs, omelettes oozing American cheese, hair-of-the-dog. At the Front Room, civilization wins out — but it’s still a good place to nurse away the night before. Besides brunch staples (eggs all ways, pancakes with Maine blueberries, French toast, fruit, yogurt), you also get delights like the croque-monsieur (a grilled ham and cheese on brioche baked with cream sauce). Best yet, it ain’t just on weekends.
