The menu at  Norm’s East End Grill is comfortable — it features the staples of American barbecue, including barbecue chicken, ribs, and steak tips. A cheap favorite is the fried chicken, which is served with mashed potatoes and biscuits. The food is affordable (dinner items range from $10—20) and what one Portlander calls “finger lickin’ good!” The restaurant has two floors, each with a small bar and pleasant atmosphere. At Norm’s there is little that will surprise you — which is a good thing, since you can never go wrong with those red-checkered table cloths, napkin bibs, and, of course, sloppy sauce.
