The Back Cove means business. Circling the estuary basin that dries out to tidal flats at low tide, this three-and-a-half-mile path is a no-nonsense route for runners and cyclists alike, teeming during the summer months and well-populated even when it gets cold. On Wednesday nights starting in May, watch for Back Cove Weekly 5K runners. On other nights, just watch the sun dip over the water.
