AS FAST AS are playing a reunion show of sorts July 3 at the Empire. Got a song you'd like to hear? They're taking requests at asfastas@gmail.com.

• Did you pick up GRAND HOTEL's debut full-length, California Cool, on Tuesday? Released June 22, it's a 10-song effort produced and recorded by AARON LACHANCE, with help from NOAH COLE. Catch the release shows at the Empire on July 16 and July 18 at the Stadium (all ages). Catch them, too, at Nateva and Kah-Bang.

• Organizer and ETERNAL OTTER RECORDS honcho WILL ETHRIDGE has announced the July 3 BUILDING OF SONG FESTIVAL, featuring the LUCID, OVER A CARDBOARD SEA, and DEAD MAN'S CLOTHES in Congress Square, and TOWN FOUNDER, LADY LAMB THE BEEKEEPER, SAMUEL JAMES, JESSE PILGRIM, UKE OF SPACES CORNERS, and MEGHAN YATES & THE REVERIE MACHINE playing on the fifth floor of the State Theatre building, will be the last Building of Song ever. For more info, including a way to help pay performers through Kickstarter, see www.eternalotterrecords.com/buildingofsong.htm.
