Cynicism aside, there are some terrific bands from this era playing tonight, too. THE CIMARRON PROJECT are an Afro-Cuban ensemble of six deeply entrenched NYC musicians. Unlike a lot of extra-US sounds, Cimarron are more of a dance participatory event than a sit-back-and-marvel thing.
