Best Rock Act in Portland

Paranoid Social Club

Coming for you

Our readers are nothing if not loyal. With Rustic Overtones winning their category, it wasn't a shock to see the psychedelic-indie rock group Paranoid Social Club — comprised of RO alumni — win Best Rock Act. The band's three energetic members (Dave Gutter, Jon Roods, and Tony McNaboe) keep the party alive with loud, percussion-driven songs, no matter the venue or the occasion. PSC fans should keep their eyes peeled for Axis IV (previous albums were Axis II and Axis III & I, and Paranoid Social Club), due out soon. "I've been a hermit all winter," says PSC (and Rustic Overtones, and solo act) singer Dave Gutter, "but I have three records coming out at the end of the summer to show for it." That's what we call rocking productivity. |
