Sexiest video-game studs of 2009

The cream of the crop
By MADDY MYERS  |  December 18, 2009

Video-game characters get more realistic all the time — and by more realistic, we mean sexier. This year offered a plethora of digital delights and graphical innovations, and although developers don't usually cater to their straight female and gay male audience members nearly as much as they could, they did a decent job this year keeping us frothing at the mouth.

The competition for the '09 list was stiffer than it was last year and it was hard picking between one rock-hard bod from another, but we were able to narrow the selection down to these 10, so ladies, men, enjoy!

Note: These are characters who made their first appearances in a 2009 game, so if you're planning to whine about a stud who didn't make the cut, make sure he actually debuted this year.

The last couple generations appreciate the Beatles as musical geniuses, but we didn't personally get to witness the full-throttle British invasion as true sex symbols. The Beatles: Rock Band gives the new generation of females a taste of that storied past by illustrating how dead sexy the boys from Liverpool used to be — with the side effect of making our moms want to give the game a try. Harmonix has skillfully recreated the Beatles' swoon-worthy natural appearances, reassuring fans' woes that the Fab Four would end up with Uncanny Valley stares like the Aerosmith members sport in their Guitar Hero title.
