Don’t diss Dobson
Al Diamon has long since operated on the assumption that everyone in the political arena is a subhuman species meriting only ridicule, however ill-founded, whereas most are motivated by a spirit of public service and are doing the best they can with their sometimes modest talents.
Diamon’s deprecatory dismissal of Laurie Dobson’s candidacy (see "And the Award Goes To...," June 13) is simply cruel. She managed to gain attention for critical issues the corporate media studiously ignores and to collect more than 4000 valid signatures — a requirement designed by smug major parties to monopolize the ballot, only to have town clerks return too few in time although they are, I understand, required to do so by law.
Anyone who has collected 5000 signatures altogether and been denied the ballot merits honor and sympathy, not an insult.

I've never seen Al Diamon quite so hysterical as in his column on the water issue. Nazi analogies of the Left are simply the Ann Coulter form of crazy, especially when you are defending corporations.

In addition to my flip comment that I personally didn’t have a clue about how to solve the horrific human tragedy we call the Iraq War, I provided Sara Donnelly with several comments in our ten-minute conversation that were constructive potential solutions.
