RIVAL SCHOOLS UNITE | DUSTIN SAUCIER has officially arrived. Formerly the frontman for the dramatic rock group Arms Against a Sea, Saucier has taken a familiar exit route for disenchanted singers of emotional punk and hardcore bands: jumping ship and starting a vulnerable solo acoustic project. His debut album, this fall’s I Wrote a Letter, is a ten-song collection of plaintive waltzes and heartsick folk ballads, often arranged in alt-country inflections or a Midwestern sheen by an impressive backing band of local musicians. He plays with the campy and dance-driven group BETTER AS RIVALS, from Presque Isle, at Flask Lounge. 117 Spring St. 207.772.3122.
