FOR YOUR YOUTHS | ELIZABETH MITCHELL, folk songwriter and ex-member of the excellent slowcore band Ida, has released six records of children’s folk on the Smithsonian Folkways label. For the latest, the just-released Blue Clouds, she complements her spirited, intelligent kidstuff with reinterpretations of songs by Jimi Hendrix, David Bowie, and Bill Withers.
