SLUDGEFEAST | Time heals all wounds, and so apparently does the Internet. When the post-punk power trio DINOSAUR JR. broke up in 1997, their last couple records kicking around the cut-out bins, no one would’ve been faulted for filing them among alt-rock retreads like Urge Overkill, Teenage Fanclub, or Possum Dixon, bands who shot small flares into the vast firmament of rock music before flaming out. But the blogs had their say, and after much post-mortem canonization and listomania, Dino’s catalog — particularly the landmark You’re Living All Over Me and Bug — is now pretty much required listening among serious rock fans. The group reformed in 2007, bridging an unthinkable breach between bandleader J Mascis and bassist (and later, Sebadoh frontman) Lou Barlow, and have released three solid records since. Their latest, I Bet On Sky, doesn’t stake out new territory as much as stretch comfortably in what they’ve already claimed: loud-first dynamics, punk-anathema guitar solos, and a grizzled psychedelia. They play with the modern folk act HUSH ARBORS at the State Theatre, 609 Congress St., at 8 pm. $25-28. 207.956.6000.
