Biohazard + Madball + Sworn Enemy + Blue Collar Product
Anyone remember the Judgment Night soundtrack? That record sold 2 million copies in 1993, introducing the thuggish New York hardcore band BIOHAZARD to mainstream America when they teamed with rap group Onyx for the song “Slam.” In the ’80s, Biohazard had been one of the first groups to fuse fast hardcore punk with heavy metal. MADBALL came from similar terrain, adding hefty doses of machismo and street fraternalism. Decades later, they’re relics of a much simpler time in heavy music, and a New York far more dangerous than Bloomberg would know what to do with. If you’re looking to relive the mid-’80s Lower East Side (or maybe Zootz in the ’90s, which was nearly as rough), head to the Asylum at 9 pm, where they join next-wave NYHC band SWORN ENEMY and BLUE COLLAR PRODUCT, a like-minded group from Biddeford. $18. 121 Center St., 207.772.8274.
