Hersey State

Hersey State is comprised of the members of the Portland's Hersey Street house: Emily Dixxx Thomas, Eric Schwan, Ed Kniseley, Dave Noyes, and often Patrick Corrigan and Randy Illian, strumming, stomping, chanting and singing together to create a uniquely Maine folk sound. They have been compared to the New Lost City Ramblers, the Original Harmony Ridge Creekdippers and the Holy Modal Rounders. Hersey State is sometimes called Sheephorn, Sunshine Sandwich, The Orchards or Tin Ceilings.
