Summary: Hailing from Northhampton, MA, folk musician Chris Pureka sings emotional songs on a backdrop of melodic, and sometimes biting, guitar rhythms. At only 16 years of age, Pureka found herself opening for indie artists such as Pamela Means, Erin McKeown, and Tami Hart. In 2001, Pureka toured with folk artist Alix Olson for three months. Pureka even gleaned co-writing credit for many of the songs on Olson's first two albums.
